Corrections Officer Arrested On Misconduct, Sex Abuse Charges CBS 6 Albany January 11, 2008
A Greene County Jail correctional officer was arrested Thursday on charges of official misconduct and second-degree sexual abuse.
Aaron Beojekian, 24, of Cairo, was charged with the class-A misdemeanors after an extensive internal investigation into a fall 2007 incident, said police.
The Greene County Sheriff's Office would not elaborate on the details of the incident nor who was involved.
"We are deeply saddened that a corrections officer chose to abuse his authority in such a volatile way," said Sheriff Greg Seeley. "The safety and security of inmates in the Greene County Jail is the top priority for both the administration and staff."
"It is never easy to investigate or arrest of fellow member of law enforcement," Seeley continued. "I commend the members of the Sheriff's Office, both employees and administration, who worked diligently on such a difficult case."
Beojekian was arraigned in Catskill Town Court and is due back at a later date.
