My granddaughters would have loved to see her in concert. But the tickets were not only expensive, but they were sold out!! Of course I would have bought the tickets and 'lovingly' gave them to their parents and let THEM take the girls. TOO CRAZY FOR ME!! Guess I'm getting old, huh?
Traffic will be rerouted and some streets will be closed to vehicles later this afternoon for tonight’s sold-out Miley Cyrus concert at the Times Union Center. Cyrus, 15, star of the Disney series “Hannah Montana,” will perform at 7 tonight, and hordes of young fans and their parents are expected to arrive early for the concert. Beginning at 4 p.m., South Pearl Street, between Beaver and Howard streets, will be closed to all traffic. Southbound traffic on South Pearl will have to turn east onto Hudson Avenue to Broadway, then north on Broadway to State Street, west on State Street to North Pearl Street. Police said northbound traffi c will have to turn east, or west, onto Beaver Street. Traffic that turns east will proceed to Green Street, then turn south on Green Street to Hudson Avenue. At Hudson, traffi c can go east, west or continue south around the road closure. Traffi c that turns west onto Beaver Street must turn north on Lodge Street and back to State Street. At about 5 p.m. police will direct inbound arena traffic as follows: South Pearl Street, between State Street and Beaver Street, will become one way southbound. This traffic is directed by signs to form two lanes. The left lane is directed to Beaver Street eastbound then to southbound Green Street, where public parking is available. Hannah Montana caught using body double Associated Press Friday, January 11, 2008
NEW YORK -- It was ever so brief, but the use of a body double by Miley Cyrus on her best-selling "Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus 'Best of Both Worlds'" tour is creating plenty of buzz.
A video posted on YouTube shows the 15-year-old entertainer as "Hannah" dancing onstage with a group of dancers and the Jonas Brothers, also on the tour. During the song, someone ushers her offstage via a trap door. Immediately, another girl dressed like the character "Hannah" in the same pink trench coat with blonde hair covering her faces dances around, runs up the stage set, and then quickly leaves. While the double is holding a microphone for her less than a minute, the girl motions like she is singing. However, a rep for Miley said the switch was only for costume purposes. "To help speed the transition from Hannah to Miley, there is a production element during the performance of 'We Got the Party' incorporating a body double for Miley," according to statement Friday from the public relations firm PMK. "After Hannah has completed the featured verse on the duet with the Jonas Brothers, a body double appears approximately one to two minutes prior to the end of the song in order to allow Miley to remove the Hannah wig and costume and transform into Miley for her solo set. Other than during this very brief transitional moment in the show, Miley performs live during the entirety of both the Hannah and Miley segments of the concert." Miley's "Hannah Montana" tour is one of the nation's hottest tours, selling out within minutes when tickets went on sale last fall. Some people have been reselling tickets for thousands of dollars. Miley has released two albums under the "Hannah Montana" brand, both of which have sold more than two million copies. The "Hannah Montana" is an offshoot of the Walt Disney Co. TV show.
I'm sure kind of thing happens all of the time! I don't think too many people mind, as long as they are being entertained.
