One of my most favorite Christmas gifts was a Ninteno DS. Which I asked for. Someone else got me the "Brain Age" to play with it. I thought it would keep my mind sharp! Well, I tried one game and it told me that I had the mind of an 80 year old!! I guess I need more practice. |

Would that be better or worse than the mind of a 4 year old? My best gift was a bedroom remodel. We have been working on it for a month. New sheetrock, vaulted ceiling. I painted the higher wall a deep brick red, I was scared to death, the other three are a burnt almond. We just finished it yesterday. The red turned out awesome after three coats. Carpet should be here this week, thanks to Broadway Carpet, best service and price in town. I sold my furniture so I have to wait until spring when flea markets and auctions start up. I like antiques and plan to furnish with a mix and match (or not match) collection. I spent 20 years with wall to wall flowers so this is a big change. Are all you guys out there really excited??? |

I have been playing my Brain Games and I got my mind score to a 47year old. (better than 80) So I'm happy with myself. And Rene I love the description of your bedroom! Maybe the guys didn't, but I did. I love those dark rich colors for walls.(Tuscany designs) I would love to do that, but we don't know what will happen with our house since we live on Duanesburg Road by the proposed Flying J's. So we aren't going to invest too much into it. And I love antiques, but my husband doesn't. He has to buy everything new. But we do compromise. I do have some collectables while he has the plasma tv on the wall, 3 computers in the house and EVERYTHING is remote control. Even the locks on our doors! So we kind of mix and match! |

So, now we get a look behind the curtain to see how the great Admin (a.k.a. OZ) runs things. |

Everyone just click your heals together and close your eyes and just keep saying, "I want to live in a state where taxes aren't so high and government is fair". Do you think it will work? |

Oh yeah, I forgot to ask, has the Flying J approached the town yet? I can't imagine they put that much money into the property knowing it isn't zoned for that business, or is it? |

I love the plasma tv on the wall. It gives me more floor space. I was against it in the beginning, but actually prefer it now. We got it from Marcella's and they did an outstanding job of installing. There are no wires to be seen anywhere. A nice clean look. The only thing is that it is over our fireplace, so I have now lost the space on the mantle. I use to like decorating it. But I have improvised and used my creative imagination. As far as the flying J's, I emailed Steve about 1 month ago and have never gotten a respond back from him. I would like to attend the 1/1/07 meeting where I would like to ask if there are any updates. It's a win/win situation for flying j's. Even if they don't get the go ahead to build, they still own a prime piece of property that would re-sell in a heart beat. |

This is the co-developer of the Brain Age games. The ones that I received for Christmas and my Nintendo DS. I love them!! It's addicting. This is a pretty nice article about this guy. http://www.yahoo.com

Game researcher ducks millions in royalties Co-developer of multi-million seller 'Brain Age' gave royalty share to college construction efforts. By Mike Smith Ryuta Kawashima, the researcher behind Nintendo's Brain Age series of games for the DS portable system, would rather be working than enjoying $11 million in royalties he could have earned from his creations. "Not a single yen has gone in my pocket," Dr. Kawashima told the AFP in a recent interview. Kawashima, whose likeness was heavily featured in the best-selling Brain Age games, is instantly recognizable to almost 12 million gamers worldwide. Under the terms of his agreement with his employer, Tohoku University in Japan's north-east region, Kawashima was entitled to accept half the Brain Age royalties personally. Instead, he used the proceeds to help fund $6.5 million in construction projects on Tohoku's campus. "My hobby is work," he said. "Everyone in my family is mad at me but I tell them that if they want money, go out and earn it." Kawashima, who strictly monitors his teenage sons' gaming time, is currently working on a four-year project to study brain development in children. He's also cooperating with Toyota to develop a car designed to keep elderly drivers alert.

Wow! I would have at least taken some of the money and I WOULD have given some to my family. Perhaps he doesn't get along so well with them, huh? |
