René, even though you were 10 years old and didn't realize all that was going on back then, it still has impacted your life today. Along with the rest of us. And I also liked it when going out to dinner was like and event. And even getting dressed up to go to church.
And the attire back then was bell bottoms, hot pants, mini skirts and the unforgettable platform shoes! How there weren't more broken ankles are beyond me.
LIBERATION AND FREEDOM is what is was all about back then. It was somewhat refreshing in certain aspects and damaging in others.
Somebody, thanks for sharing your hijacking story. Fascinating to say the least! If that had happened in this day and age, I am afraid to say that you would have ended up flying through a building. |

I forgot a couple things from 1969, wow
Gosh, I bet I also forgot to watch 1968 on History Channel, I heard it advertised a couple weeks ago.
Anyone want to guess what my wife's and my favorite TV show was a few years back, only lasted three seasons? |

How about All In The Family? I know that was my favorite and I have all the seasons on DVD. Talk about NOT politically correct. |

Wong on those counts.
I think the title was American Dreams. It was about a girl who got to dance on American Bandstand, took place in the early 60's (they dealt with Kennedy assassination) and I can't remember what year they ended with. Story lines involved Vietnam (oldest son went), racism and the riots, too a much lesser extent a gay character, an almost interracial romance, stores or shopping center that would negatively affect the mom and pop business.
Oh how I wish that show was still on, they could have done so much with it.
And I shouldn't have given the answer, should have played a bit |
