Aquafina to admit its source on label NEW YORK — You thought that water in your Aquafina bottle came from some far-away spring bubbling deep in a glen? Try the same place as the water in your tap. PepsiCo Inc. is the latest company to offer some clarity about the source of its top-selling bottled water as it announced on Friday it would change the label on Aquafi na water bottles to spell out that the drink comes from the same source as tap water. A group called Corporate Accountability International has been pressuring bottled water sellers to curb what it calls misleading marketing practices. The group has criticized PepsiCo over its blue Aquafina label with a mountain logo, saying that it perpetuates the misconception that the water comes from spring sources.
I always had my suspicions about where any of this bottled water came from. And even though I believe that packaging should be 'truthful', I don't drink bottled water because it may 'taste' better. I drink it for conviencience, whether it be at work or bike riding or just going for a walk. At family picnics we always have a case of bottled water in our outside cooler with the soda and beer. It is basically convienience for me.

If you ever drink real good well water, you can actually see the minerals floating around in the water. Minerals that we are 'suppose' to consume. Most bottle water goes through a RO system. (reverse osmosis) which takes 'everything' out of the water. Even the good stuff.
But I, as well as you shadow, think they pretty much all taste the same. Cold and Wet!!!

Isn't it funny that we can purchase 'bottled water' as if it fell from the sky and yet folks in darfur and other countries dont have plumbing like we do or access to clean water.....

That's right senders, and we work very hard and pay a ton of taxes for these luxuries. And let us not forget that it was the generations before us that worked hard and faught in wars just so we could have 'our bottled water'!

I'm actually rather surprised this became a big deal. The last time I bought Aquafina (not often, Rotterdam has possibly the finest tap water out of anyplace I've lived) I remember it clearly stating on the label that the source of it in this area was Latham Municipal. Maybe their labels did not contain that information in other parts of the country?
Ya know....you are right. I forgot about that! It did say 'latham'. Although I always buy Polar Springs. And for no apparent reason...must be the packaging.

Aquifina's label always stated that the water was from Latham NY, Municipal. I don't quite understand the concern from the Corporate Accountability International Group.
