"I think we should all 'have' to celebrate and tolerate perversion. "

This says it all bum.  You believe that homosexuals are perverts.   And you are associating gays with child rapists, and people who have sex with animals.  That is why you are a bigot & prejudice.

I'm saying just the opposite....who is to say what rape is? Who is to say sex with animals are wrong? It's just those old antiquated laws like the alcohol and women's voting rights laws. Thank God we have moved on in this civil society. Hopefully we can get rid of these other stupid laws in our lifetime....dontcha think? Get rid of your bigotry and prejudice! It is NOT for you to say!

Hey...look at the old stupid law that said you had to be a legal citizen to reap the benefits in this country. How dumb is that!!! Thank God that our government is going to change that law and allow all of the illegals the right to ALL benefits including voting even if they are NOT legal! Thank God they finally saw the light, huh? These illegals have rights too ya know!

....and there is a law on the books that prevent relatives from marrying. That was due to the belief that if they procreated, they would have a good chance of having 'abnormal off-spring'. SOOOOOO....perhaps the brother can get a vasectomy and the sister can get her tubes tied and bingo......no problem-o!!! Get that law off the books too! Brothers and sisters and close relatives have rights to ya know. Who are we to say?

Come on, just read how oppressed this poor group is. They had to go underground. They aren't looking to violate any existing laws. They just want them changed to meet and suit their needs and civil rights. If anyone disagrees with them are clearly bigots and prejudice, wouldn't you say?

Quoted Text
The North American Man/Boy Love Association (NAMBLA) is a New York City and San Francisco-based unincorporated organization in the United States that advocates the liberalization of laws against sexual relations between adult and minor males - resolving to "end the oppression of men and boys who have freely chosen mutually consenting relationships". NAMBLA also calls for "the adoption of laws that both protect children from unwanted sexual experiences and at the same time leave them free to determine the content of their own sexual experiences."[2] NAMBLA's webpage claims that: "NAMBLA does not provide encouragement, referrals or assistance for people seeking sexual contacts" and that it does not "engage in any activities that violate the law [or] advocate that anyone else should [violate the law]."[3]
NAMBLA holds an annual gathering in New York City and monthly meetings around the country.[4][clarification needed] In the early 1980s, NAMBLA was reported to have had over 300 members, and was supported by such noted figures as Allen Ginsberg.[5] Since then, the organization has kept membership data private, but an undercover FBI investigation in 1995 discovered that there were 1,100 people on the rolls.[4] It is the largest organization in the umbrella group Ipce[6] (formerly "International Pedophile and Child Emancipation").[6]
Since 1995, public criticism and law enforcement infiltration have heavily impaired the organization. Its national headquarters now consists of little more than a private mail box service in San Francisco, and they rarely respond to inquiries. Some reports state that the group no longer has regular national meetings and few local monthly meetings, and that as of the late 1990s to avoid local police infiltration, the organization discouraged the formation of local chapters.[4][7]

CAPITOL
Gay marriage bill will pass, crowd assured

BY CAITLIN TREMBLAY For The Daily Gazette

Perry Junjulas and the Rev. Tony Green are anxiously awaiting the day when they can officially set a date for their wedding. “I just hope we don’t turn into bridezillas,” Junjulas said.
The two men live in Albany and want to get married here. “We have deep ties to this community and we don’t want to travel to get married. We want our family and friends to be there. It’s a big deal,” said Junjulas.
For Junjulas and Green, that day may finally be on the horizon.
In a news conference on Monday, Sen. Thomas K. Duane, D-Manhattan, assured dozens of gay and lesbian couples as well as elected officials present that the day when same-sex marriage is legal in New York is closer than anyone might think.
Sen. Duane stood with his partner of 16 1 /2 years, Louis Werbe, gave him a kiss and said, “We are denied a civil right because of who we love. I am confident that by the end of this year the marriage equality legislation will come to the floor and will pass.”
There are 13 days left in this year’s legislative calendar.
The Assembly passed marriage equality legislation earlier this month by a vote of 89 to 52. Duane, who is a prime sponsor of the legislation in the Senate, said he has already gathered enough votes for it to pass, but he wouldn’t say which votes he’d captured, only “a majority of Democrats and some Republicans.” He stated that he is sure that he has Republican votes.
According to Duane, the legislation could pass as soon as it is brought to the floor.
So why not introduce it now?
More votes. “I want this to pass with the strongest possible showing and a solid majority,” Duane said. “New York should be a leader in civil rights. Louis and I have been together through good times and bad times, laughter and tears, just like every other couple, but we can’t get married, and that’s wrong.”
PRIDE MONTH
Monday also marked the start of Pride Month which will be celebrated in the Capital Region from June 4 to June 14 with “Capital Pride,” a series of events to raise awareness about gay rights.
The New York Civil Liberties Union marked the beginning of Pride Month with the launch of a new Web site. MarriageNY.com  offers New Yorkers easy tools to lobby their state senators to ask them to support the marriage bill.
The site also features videos of lesbian and gay couples from around New York state telling their stories and asking for the right to marry in New York, and offers simple ways for New Yorkers to spread the word about the Senate vote.
“There are only about three weeks left in the legislative session. New Yorkers must speak up now and demand protection for all of New York’s families,” NYCLU Executive Director Donna Lieberman said. “We must urge our senators to be on the right side of history and support fairness and equality for all New Yorkers.” ........>>>>.........>>>>.........http://www.dailygazette.net/De.....amp;EntityId=Ar01100

Sure it'll pass. NYS is looking anywhere to get more money due to their over tax and spending. So what the hell...look at the extra monies for marriage licenses alone! Then there is the sales tax from wedding clothes, wedding receptions, wedding bands, flowers, wedding planners etc.....! It's just sooooo NYS!

marriage was rarely if ever done by government officials in past times.....marriage was usually reserved for 'religious observance'/procreation.....and it       doesn't matter which religion one chooses,,,wican, roman catholic, any protestant etc.......

I say let the government call marriage with whom or what it wants.......government should not be the Pope, minister, or pastor.......

I am not gay and will not be married to a gay person----MY choice---away from the government/laws/religion/tradition..........

we will reap what we sow.......

Unions joining gay rites fight
Labor groups advocate for Senate same-sex marriage bill

By IRENE JAY LIU, Capitol bureau
First published in print: Friday, June 5, 2009

ALBANY -- With nine days left in the legislative session, gay rights advocates are making the final push for passage of a same-sex marriage bill with help from the state's most powerful labor unions.

Union leaders have used their influence in Albany and devoted union resources in an effort to persuade Senate members to support a bill that would allow gay couples to marry in New York.

Community organizers from the powerful health care union 1199 SEIU and its sister union, building service union SEIU 32BJ, have worked for the past few weeks with the Empire State Pride Agenda, which has led lobbying efforts to promote the bill. The New York State United Teachers union and the New York City Central Labor Council have provided phone banks to assist the effort.

The unions, as well as the AFL-CIO, municipal public employees union DC 37, Communication Workers of America Local 1 and 1180 and UNITE HERE have sent memorandums and letters of support to individual legislators...........>>>>...........>>>>....................http://www.timesunion.com/AspStories/story.asp?storyID=807215&category=REGION

Opposing same-sex marriage doesn't make you a bigot

Regarding all of the same-sex marriage issues, ideas and opinions, there is one simple truth that hasn’t been addressed and that is no person has been denied a marriage license because of their sexual orientation. Not in New York state or elsewhere that I know of. The denial is one of gender, multiple partners, relation or animal based. Gay men can marry gay women or straight women. Gay women can marry gay men or straight men. But men cannot marry men or boys, and women cannot marry women or girls.
Several people have written to this newspaper stating that Dan Weaver’s May 10 op-ed, [“What’s next? Marriage benefits for bigamists and polygamists?”] was flawed. As I read it he dealt with the gender, multiple partners, relation and animal based denials for a couple getting a marriage license. The accepted definition of marriage in every dictionary — Web-based and hard copy — defines marriage as being a religious and civil union between a man and a woman. I find no flaws in his argument and I applaud his effort. But people can be limited in their scope of understanding. Many things go over my head, too..................>>>>..........>>>>..............................http://www.dailygazette.com/news/2009/jun/05/0605_ONLINE/

Same-sex marriage violates natural science

All area residents who support traditional marriage are strongly urged to write, e-mail or call their state senator as soon as possible to ask him/her to vote no on the same-sex marriage bill (S4401).
This proposed law would not only change the cultural definition of marriage, but also its biological definition. That is the principle of natural science through which a male and female (think anatomy) fuse for the presumed purpose of procreation.
Whether this is the purpose for which all couples marry, whether the result always occurs, whether it can be achieved through artificial methods using modern technology, is not the point. This anatomical union is the natural law which has formed the basis of marriage for time eternal. Civil laws protecting the progeny of said unions and related property evolved from this. Cultures change, but the laws of natural science are absolute. You can call a mule a horse, but it is still a mule.
Perhaps this is why (not religion, fear, prejudice) in the 42 states of our democracy where the citizens were allowed to vote on this momentous issue, they all rejected same-sex marriage.
Certainly there are many more serious and immediate problems in our state that need our government’s attention. Since gays can freely co-habitate and could receive all the financial benefits and legal rights of marriage through civil unions, why do they refuse to compromise? Could they be seeking legitimacy and a new “normal”?

Of course it is un-natural! Again a no brainer! Is our government going to pass legislation to every group that wants to live an un-natural perverted lifestyle? They already have rights....they have the right to live perverted lifestyles. In other countries they wouldn't even be allowed to do that!!!! Ridiculous at best!
