Nikki had every opportunity to craft a letter.  She declined.  She is full of more CRAP now than my last post!

Ms DiLeva, like the general public, was falsely and intentionally led to believe that the Town Attorneys were drafting and
mailing the letter to voters...all part of the deceit campaign Liccardi and his pro-tax co-conspirators know is necessary to
give this scheme any chance.

They supposedly had already printed postcards the first time - what, they couldn't reprint them with the correct information?

Where is Gerard and the Republican's on this issue?  Or are they part of the deceit campaign?  Working together to bend the taxpayer over.

Salamone supports creating the tax district for REMS...and only REMS.

If he supports it then so does Parisi, Tracey, and the rest of rotterdam "reps"

then again that is all based on gadfly - who seems to know what is going with this fiasco

As fas as Dileva, she can write an editorial, make a motion to delay the vote, do something to make her feelings known about the vote.  my bet she wants it also since i am sure she will get a reduction in assesment when they bring in new assessor.  just my gut feeling.

boy this is fun to watch!!!

I was just informed that SOME people DID receive postcards - with no return address, no indication of what side of the aisle they were promoting, etc. Only a bulk rate permit for postage.  From the best of one persons recollection, it was received last Friday.

Ironically, it was a registered Democrat that just told me that.  Funny, my family (myself not included) are registered Republicans and have received no such mailing.

Things that make you go Hmmm.

It was from the FBI website -- the data that I gave was accurate.   I am not going to argue that point any
further.

.

Prove it.  YOu say you aren't going to argue that point anymore---because you CANNOT prove the statement about this alleged data.  There is none, you can't prove there is, and so you use the lame excuse that you will just avoid discussing anymore.

As for the issue of absentee ballots -- I have been on the record publicly ... at town board meetings ..
asking why they were not made available.    If you recall, the town attorney at the time said that it was not possible .. but I checked further .. and he admitted that it was possible but that it required " a lot of work
on our end"   --- and that the individuals would have to come down to town hall to request the absentee
ballot.     The first part of his response was unacceptable to me -- a little extra work to ensure full
participation in a democracy is not too much to ask.     The second part of his response .. the going down to
town hall to request the absentee ballot ... is unfortunately the way it would have to be done ... the whole
process is overseen at the town-level and NOT at the County Board of Elections.

I will go one step further in saying .. I think the town should have allowed ALL registered voters in the town
to vote -- and not just property owners.    The argument against it -- was whether the ambulance district is more like voting for a fire district or more like voting for a water or sewer district.     Mr. Salamone argued
quite eloquently that it was more like voting for a fire district --- thus allowing ALL registered voters the
right to vote.   The town attorney believed it was more like voting for a sewer or water district and wanted to
avoid a possible legal challenge.       Bottom line --- my position ... I would rather have erred on the side of
allowing MORE people to vote and dealing with a legal challenge later on -- when a good argument could be
made to support the reasoning for EXPANDING the definition of those allowed to vote.   Again, it is always
better to err on the side of MORE democracy than on the side of LESS democracy.

Well for once we agree.  So the best thing to do is forget the vote for now, it's terrible to have it when the weather could be bad anyway,     And having to go in person to apply for the ballot is so stupid, how does a homebound person who go in person.  There are people that never went in person to the county BOE to apply for absentee, and they have voted that way for years and automatically get the ballot every year.  There's got to be a better way.  You seem to have inside connections, use them for something good, something for the people instead of something for the political insiders and the well helled

Next thing to do is -- hold the vote -- and settle the ambulance tax district issue once and for all.

as for the absentee ballots --- the whole process is handled by the town  .. NOT by the Board of Elections
that is why the Board of Elections can't just mail out absentee ballot forms  ... they are NOT involved
in the preparations for  and conduct of the referendum vote

It is on the FBI's website .. I am not going to go back and look it up again ... and I am not going to
argue the point because I know that I am correct.

As usual, in rotterdam, issues become like a horse race. Rotterdamian's wake up, eat their horse biscuits and place bets on who's horse is gonna win!! And of course EVERYTHING in rotterdam is political!

It's real simple here rotterdam........if ya want increasingly higher taxes....vote YES!
If ya don't.........vote NO!!
Either way, no one is going to be dying in the streets!!!

It really is as simple as that! But then again, this is happening in rotterdam where money walks and bullsh!t talks!!

Where town money(ALS) walks into unknown accounts under the watchful eye of those elected to be accountable for it.  Hmmmm...Where did that money go?

Nobody cares.
