Here's something else to consider...

While it is no surprise that the pro-tax culprits have been lobbying senior citizens who are not only the most easily frightened by the fabricated
prospect of no ambulance service, but are most likely to utilize ambulance service...and are likely to be the most frequent users as well.

It was recently pointed out to me that many senior citizens, while they are property owners of record and will get to vote, do not pay any property taxes
despite large sums of money in bank accounts, etc. and would not have to pay this tax...while collecting STAR rebate checks on property taxes they do
not pay...with insurance/Medicare to cover ambulance service. If property owners who pay no taxes can vote, then everyone else should be able to vote
as well.

If the vote passes, it again is a clear indicator that Rotterdam continues to drink their septic tank water.
For people to live their lives fretting over whether an ambulance will get to them in 10 minutes or 15 minutes is equivalent to worrying when you will get struck by a meteorite!  Typical mindset for Rotterdam sheeple . . . They don't know no difference!

Again -- you and your ilk expose yourself for what you are ... a bunch of elitists who look down on the
average person.    Making that comment that supporters of the tax district drink septic water --- is all
the evidence I need to prove that you and your ilk are a bunch of totalitarian elitists.

BTW ---- if the folks have to wait an EXTRA 10 to 15 minutes for Mohawk to respond from God knows where
there ambulances will be --- IT WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE  ---   an extra 10 to 15 minute response time
has cost lives in the past and would do so in the future.
Obviously, you know NOTHING about health or medicine by making such a foolish comment that an extra
10 to 15 minutes doesn't  matter.

Persons with star exemptions still pay property taxes .. a reduced tax .. but they still pay property tax.
Stop making up stuff to deceive the voters.

There are MANY MANY  MANY seniors who pay either NOTHING or NEXT TO NOTHING in taxes!!! THEY have nothing to lose since the government will continue to give them even more exemptions! I'm not denying them these exemptions..........just saying!

And I'm not making this stuff up either...........k?

I guess those same seniors who pay nothing in taxes will bundle up and go vote AGAINST REMS, just like they vote AGAINST school board budgets and vote AGAINST anything that raises taxes.  I'm just saying..........

I have yet to see a senior citizen who pays NO property tax ... and if they pay "next to nothing" - then they
still pay some taxes.

The right-wingers who are opposing this tax district are the same right-wingers who want to destroy Social
Security and have repeatedly supported cuts to vital social service programs.   The right-wingers - if they
had their way - would repeal the part of the Healthcare Reform that provides insurance coverage for children
with pre-existing medical conditions.    The right-wingers even voted against  the CHIP program which
lower cost health insurance for poor children.
Pretty soon the right-wingers will be voting to ban the homeless people from borrowing card board boxes to
sleep in.
Wake up folks ------   the reason they oppose the tax district is because they want to benefit their
friends in big business ... privatize a vital public service ... then they can collect $$$ from the private
business to run for public office and take away the rest of your public services  ---- of course -- they will
find a way to feather their own nest in the mean time.

Suprisingly few school budgets are defeated ---- our senior citizens take pride in the communities that THEY
BUILT UP ... and they want to pass that community on to their grandchildren in good shape.

The fact that the right-wingers are now attacking the senior citizens who support the ambulance tax district
just goes to show how desperate they have become.

Of course --   McGarry, O'Connor, Rhinesmith, and Parisi will have to do a 180 degree turn by next summer ...
as they make another attempt to lie and cheat their way into public office

What evidence can you provide that Parisi is opposed to the creation of the tax district?  My understanding is that
he is in favor.

They won't vote against REMS if they are being falsely led to believe that without the tax there will be no ambulance service...as we
know many people are...especially if they won't have to pay the tax.

Then you haven't seen too many seniors' tax bills.

The reason "right wingers" oppose the tax is because it will be an unnecessary runaway train...because they understand that the
government expands everything they touch...and that the private sector, not the government, creates jobs and are the real engines
that drive the economy.

The Rotterdam Paramedics are first responders for all emergencies.  They are ALS certified and are flat out AWESOME!  If they can't stabilize you and you are going to crash, only a fool would think the ambulance will save you.  "Again -- you and your ilk expose yourself for what you are ... a bunch of elitists who look down on the average person."  My ilk doesn't scare and intimidate the elderly, and tell it straight up as it is.  We don't fluff the pillow of facts to illicit a particular response and look to protect the rights and interests of the average person.  You're so defensive because you and your ilk are preaching B.S. and you've been exposed!

Any update from those who filed complaints with the NYS Attorney General's office regarding the reportedly collected
ALS fees that were not returned to the town or about the audit that the Supervisor requested of REMS financials?
Was his request for the state to audit or for an internal audit by REMS?

DV is going to go into shock come January when many of his favorite entitlement programs have their budgets cut by Congress in order to balance the budget. A few Dems and Reps in Congress have already said that they will not vote to bail out any states that can't pay for the entitlement programs that they created and the states that are high on the failure list are California, NYS, NJ, and a few more blue states. NYS is one of the highest taxed states in the country and you still want to tax people even more than they already are.
