This is all typical rotterdam bullcrap!!!

This isn't mohawk vs rems!!!!

This is about forming and supporting higher taxes for ANY non profit ambulance service!

As opposed to NOT!!

Plain and simple!!

This is just your typical rotterdam bullcrap.......it IS the gumba gangstas mentality!! IMHO of course!

What are we saving the REMS from?  The stress of having to manage an operating budget ever again.

VOTE NO at our banana republic referendum.

I am for REMS.  I am against the tax district.

Just because someone doesn't accept a new tax doesn't mean that they don't support the organization that is requesting the tax fund them.  I suggest they find another way to get their money.  Go back to requesting donations, even if that means they would need to give up their paychecks.  I know of one person who tells me that he works full time with REMS.  He also works full time in another job...  for Mohawk.  He lives in Rotterdam and needs both jobs in order to pay his taxes.  I am for helping friends and neighbors, but I am not for higher taxes, something that would hurt myself and my friends and neighbors.

You can't make this personal. This is about another unnecessary TAX! The role of government does not include employment. The role of government is to provide the infrastructure, low taxes and a safe environment to attract private business to employ people.

If your friend needs a second job, that it is up to the government to provide an environment for private enterprise to expand. It is not the governments role to provide a job at the taxpayer's expense through and unnecessary tax. IMHO

If REMS is looking to be a 'competitor' for Mohawk....then BY GOD DO IT!....but I cant help you......you need to ask your business friends for $$ support
that's what they are there for......we are not here for you to ride our backs 24/7/365......but, if you want to be a legit business offering service at a price
as needed 24/7/365, then by all means....GET TO IT! BUT NOT ON MY BACK.......

...you are a product of your environment, your environment is a product of your priorities, your priorities are a product of you......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

REMS is providing a necessary and essential public service.   Privatizing necessary and essential public
services has proven a disaster   -- look at the problem with privatizing state prisons in other states.

and to the poster who said that the issue is not personal --- it is personal ---  it is about personal health
and safety

and those who are opposed say it is about the taxes ---  and my response is  .. there are people who ARE
willing to pay the ambulance tax to keep a vital public service

I'd much rather spend 10cents per thousand for ambulance service than to spend $80,000 so that Senator
Huey Farley can take his family to Hawaii and Disney World for vacation.

How about Susan Savage's $100K no show job?

The State is $61 Billion dollars in debt, and Rotterdam wants to strap it's residents with another public service.  You're F'n nuts.

I agree wholeheartedly.  If they weren't paying, he would have probably had to do something else for his second job.  He's already a volunteer fireman, also.
