wow, okay, it has offically been 4 weeks, and nobody has posted it, nor mentioned it! Four weeks since town residents were mailed a letter from Rotterdam Ambulance, that letter told how the current majority, specifically John Mertz was hurting public safety, by playing politics with the ems merger. Bum, senders, bigK, all of you have seen it and yet no comment. I betcha if it said Diane Marco was a roadblock to a merger and a sucessful running of the town ambulance, it would have been posted all over this site. Put politics aside, right is right, wrong is wrong. The letter said how Signore was a supporter of EMS, and gave some praise to Tommasone, but it clearly pointed out that what John Mertz was doing is wrong...a bipartisan, factual mailer, that nobody wants to mention. why? Several of my fellow republicans, and yes, despite what you think, I am a republican, I just don't blindly support the party, have said that Mertz and Buchanon are way too much of a liabilty, and they need to go, I agree. The town spent many dollars on studies as to what to do with town EMS, the study was released, and yet the town is still sitting on their hands, why?

I just checked with my neighbor, and they never got such a letter either. I also called my mom and she never received one either. So maybe they weren't sent out to everyone in town? And for the record...I am not in favor of the merger!
And I have only heard about Buchanan being a liability to the reps. Which I totally agree with. Like I have said before...he needs to go! I honestly never heard that said about Mertz.

I have never seen this letter either. If anyone has a copy of this letter, maybe they could scan it and post it here for all of us to read. Or scan it and email it to me at joann_rotterdamny.info@yahoo.com and I will post it here.
I don't remember getting the letter either. I realize that things have been heated with the election, yesterday, though. So, it is possible, at least on my end, that this may have fallen through the cracks. Personally, I do NOT think that consolidating the ambulances would be a good idea and I would be wholly opposed to it. The response times would be absolutely ridiculous.
I'm actually surprised that there's many other places that DON'T have their own ambulance service. For example, go down to Jumpin' Jacks and just sit by the river for a while. Every once in a while, you'll get a chance to see what ambulance service Scotia / Glenville has. A Mohawk Ambulance, going lights and sirens screaming across the bridge. I don't want an ambulance coming for me when I have a life-threatening emergency from outside the town/village that I'm living in. I realize that sometimes, you have to look at ways to cut costs. Saving people's lives is one department that I would NOT even want to LOOK at, much less actually CONSIDER!
And yes, I would LOVE to see this "WONDERFUL" mailer that went out.
If you have a copy of this, patriot, let me know. We can hook up so I can get a copy of it to post on here, or e-mail it to me via a PM and I'll post it. I have no problem with that.
Because when they try to fix something, like Ed Kosiur did with the sex offender law, they believe that they can campaign and hopefully get elected on that 'fix'!

There is more to it---I believe(the nursing homes are required to have a plan and how many people they could take in and for how long and report to the government, not to mention the communications which is a BIG THING,,there are companies making $$ hand over fist here)......there are new recommendations/requirements since 9/11 for first responders and other support services.....can the town afford to upgrade to this....
The feds promised the states $$ and the states should be spreading out the $$.....
how much in the dark ages is Rotterdam?..... Is Mohawk just a company looking to cash in?....(any government supported endeavor is guaranteed gravy-not enough watchdogs) Has the money not arrived?.... Is there not guarantee of oversight in how it should be done?..... or....
SHOW ME THE $$ TRAIL........
There was grant $$ for the police station.......

The replacement of morality and conscience with law produces a deadly paradox.

I would still like to have seen that letter. At least we would have something to make an educated decision with. Perhaps we could call the town and ask about this letter and see if they can mail to one of us.

I got this letter...it also came with a cut-out portion on the bottom and a reply envelope to send a donation. My printer is broken so I can not scan it. If anyone has a po box address, send me a private email and I will send it to you.
