they also pay other people to perform some of the services that they should be providing their
people  .... or pass the expense to others

for example   -- they don't have a police department -- so  the state police, sheriff, and occasionaly the neighboring town police  -- have to respond.      for some reason they don't pay higher state tax for the
state police  barracks in their town or higher county taxes for the sheriff patrols ... but what the heck ..
let's push the expense off on everyone else

you would have to know which town to foil in

and as for helping pay the taxes on family property here ... you can't foil for personal banking records[/quote]

Helping people pay taxes here and actually owning property,
seems to me they are two different animals....I could care less
about your bank records (and by the way I do know you cannot FOIL those)
however property information, I can FOIL all I want!

Princetown doesn't have a police department ... most of the town doesn't have public water or public
sewers.
Princetown is basically .. offering the bare minimum levelof government required by law ...

...And the sick are dropping dead in the streets with no Ambulance service, and gangs run the streets without the multi-million dollar town police department.  It must be on the verge of anarchy in Princetown.

Rotterdam and the city are the only sh!tholes!!!

Basically,  the choice is in the hands of the property owners now.   Pretty much all of the property owners
that I know -personally - are going to vote YES.    Not because they love a new tax district but because
they place the VALUE of keeping REMS above the value of a 5 cent per thousand cut in taxes.

If you share that value -- that respect and admiration for the great work that REMS has done and
is doing and will continue to do -- vote YES on December 14.

having a tax paid ambulance service IS NOT INFRASTRUCTURE.......maybe we could afford it after we build infrastructure.....

Actually, Gadfly probably has the inside track on how the vote will be structured.  Maybe if Gadfly reads this, or gets a private message from someone, Gadfly might weigh in on this subject.

Hello everyone...I was just checking in and saw this...been very busy.

I have ben asking about this both publicly and privately to Board Members, the Town Attorney, etc. All property owners
of record will have a vote...but multiple property owners as of this time will only have one vote. I have asked for
clarification as to whether such property owners will be expected to pay the tax on each of their properties...and the
only answer so far is that no one knows.

This is just another in a long list of unanswered questions while supporters continue to push for the vote, knowing
these issues have yet to be resolved...or even addressed, for that matter.

The vote should never have been scheduled anyway...but certainly not without a clear unsderstanding of what will be
expected of the taxpayers expected to pay for this scheme.

Absentee ballots will not be issued for this vote, by the way.

The cost of the ambulance district to support REMS' purchase of ambulance and other capital equipment
works out to just 5.5 cents a day for the average property owner.  That is a small price to pay to
keep a local provider of ambulance service that has done a great job and saved so many lives over the
years.
