Can someone send me a PM?  Is there something going on that I missed with Maple Ski Ridge supposedly going out of business?  That's the only way I could see moving the fields up there.  Imagine how you'd have to hit the ball up the hill for anything...unless they're going to flatten the hills...

no power mongering
no going out of business
maybe just a little community team work

they have some unused flat land
they have a parking lot

the little league  needs a "non public park"
the little league  needs a parking lot

trade a little cash for insurance and site prep

the town concedes a few acres of taxable real property for headache removal

i understand after the big softball / town park crisis of the summer of 2005 the need to own land  but you better sell lots of candy bars at 50k and acre

our town has a fixed amount of space and as large tracts of land are developed the $/acre will rise
if something was done in the mid 70's before the development boom of the 80's in our town we
would all be happy

other options
take advantage of the stock bankruptcy and attempt to acquire the land on the other side of princetown that is adjacent to the railroad

look at the land  between  philips, the D&H and Ciminio but it has the damn pipe line

the Island across from the GE Plant - we will just need a bridge(humor) but it is flat

Surely you don't mean a "comprehensive plan" that's updated reguarly, do you? (/snicker)

What ever happened with the proposal for the great flats walk area - by the old condemmed house?  Or perhaps down Putnam Rd? Pangburn by the Golf course?

I got an idea - how about we level Curry Road shopping center and put it there?

Something was tried in the 70's to acquire land from the town at a reasonable price but there was none to be had. The only land of the needed size was in back of where Larned's is, off Princetown and Burdeck. It needed too much fill and pilings had to be driven to support any buildings because the land was a previous brush dump.

What about the one on Gulderland Ave, that didn't have the wetlands on it? Did that tactic buy enough time?

"While Foreign Terrorists were plotting to murder and maim using homemade bombs in Boston, Democrap officials in Washington DC, Albany and here were busy watching ME and other law abiding American Citizens who are gun owners and taxpayers, in an effort to blame the nation's lack of security on US so that they could have a political scapegoat."

(chuckle)

I think they were hoping it'd be forgotten about by now.

There must be $$ to be had through the Little League LLC and all it's supporters-----G. Bush family and others being $$ supporters

otherwise why have congress help with the strike???

Was this land always Larned's or was this parcel part of the rotterdam republican club that J.Dagostino sold?

What happened to Death Ray's initial plan?

Since when is Little League a County economic development concern? Maybe he can run the concessions and create two new County lob jobs? Where is Judy DAG on this?

this word "updated" has returned

curry rd produces a "Hmmm"

there might be DEC trouble over the great flatts

the residents/business' of our town have never been very philanthropic  "a sign at the ball field doesn't qualify"

It has always been "how does it benefit me"

Is there still a plan for a town Park out in the Junction...what is this master plan...I've read about it...but as usual NOTHING, just additional taxes....Water tower for expansion in the Junction...Come on now !!

There is talk about constructing a new 'big' park which last we read in the paper, it may be proposed on the west side more into the junction area. Now this park is a town plan. This is not for the little league.

being russian polish my italian is not so good.

if one of the italian establishments in town would sell "La ribollita" we'd double our sales tax revenue in town during the colder months.
